One of the most popular ways to make the trip is via water ferry, unless you're able to arrive by private boat. Private helicopters or planes make the trip in a much faster 15-20 minute window. Prone to sea sickness? Ginger and fresh air usually do the trick on the relatively smooth sailing vessel.
'Kitty Cat Island' as Arden calls it, is a very easy trip for a family to make without spending a fortune. We love staying in Avalon because there are so many things to do within a comfortable walking distance. The harbor and pier provide great views and people watching, and the restaurants, parks, arcade, spa, shops, miniature golf, and park filled our days with fun.
